John's Jigs

John's Jigs are traditionally a non fly "lure" attractor for Steelhead and Salmon fished approximately 2'-5' below a float. For all you nymph fly fisherman, just use jigs as you do a nymph rig with an attractor. This is an extremely successful tactic for catching Steelhead and Salmon in the Pacific Northwest.

Otherwise, if your just a guy who likes to catch fish, don't be afraid to grab your spinning gear and rig your line up with a float! These jigs are proven time and again at very difficult "hatchery" fisheries throughout the Northwest. Also, John's Jigs work equally well for wild fish.
